Latest Update: XAT 2022 exam date is Sunday, January 2, 2022. Registration process for the exam has started on August 10, 2021. XLRI will conduct XAT Entrance Exam 2022 for admission to its various PGDM 2022-24 programmes and for admission to more than 160 MBA colleges including XIMB, IMT, TAPMI among others. XLRI has released XAT entrance exam notification on August 9, 2021 with key exam dates and complete schedule. Last year also, despite Covid pandemic, XLRI conducted XAT exam as a centre based test in 72 cities in India.
XAT 2022 exam full form is Xavier Aptitude Test and the exam is one of the largest MBA Entrance Exams for Admission to XLRI, SPJIMR, IMT, XIMB, TAPMI and 160+ MBA Colleges in India. Every year more than 1,00,000 candidates from all disciplines including Engineering, Commerce, Humanities, Science, Law apply and appear in this exam to get into the various MBA programs offered by these top B-schools. What is XAT Exam?
XAT exam full form is Xavier Aptitude Test. It is the Admission Test for admission to MBA/PGDM programs in XLRI and other top MBA colleges like XIMB, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI Manipal and 160 other top MBA colleges in India. XLRI will offer admission to its Jamshedpur and Delhi campuses on the basis of this exam score only and will not accept any other test score. There are more than 70 cities and more than 100 venues where XAT 2022 exam will be conducted in India.
Important Changes in Exam Pattern
Following changes have been introduced in the Exam by XLRI:
- XAT 2022 exam application fee increased to Rs.1800/-
- The exam is now changed to a computer based test from paper based test
- Single slot, single day exam
- Test timing changed to 9.30AM to 12.30PM
- Total questions increased to 100 from 99
- No Essay Writing test
- NAT Questions without negative marking introduced
- All questions are of MCQ type
- Question paper with 4 sections with different number of questions
- The last section on GK with 25 questions is not counted for percentile calculation
- Visually impaired candidates with scribe are given additional 25 minutes to solve Part 1 of the exam

Xavier Aptitude Test is online computer based exam. The aggregate maximum marks in the exam are 100 for 100 questions divided in 4 sections. Each correct answer is awarded +1 mark and each wrong answer will attract the penalty of -0.25 mark. Total time duration for the exam is 3 hours. Exam pattern is as below:

Syllabus for Xavier Aptitude Test 2022
Xavier Aptitude Test Syllabus 2022 is divided into 4 sections – Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension; Decision Making, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. Except the General Awareness, all the other three are core sections which determine the percentile score as well as XLRI shortlisting criteria. The score of General Awareness section is taken into account at the time of personal Interview round.

Most Important Sections in Syllabus

How to get XAT 2022 Admit Card?
XLRI will release the Admit card for Xavier Aptitude Test on December 20, 2021. The Admit Card will be uploaded on official XAT exam website in morning hours. You need to download the admit card from the website. No hard copy of the admit card will be sent to you, but you should download it and take print of the same as you will need to produce the hall ticket at the test centre. The Admit card download will be available online till exam date.
Only the candidates who have successfully registered for the exam and have also paid the application fee can download the admit card.
Guidelines for Admit Card Download
- You need to login with your ID and Password at the official website for admit card download
- You must check your personal details, candidature, test centre details before completing your admit card download process.
- Once you have viewed all the details, you should immediately complete the admit card download and save it
- Take prints on A4 size paper, after your admit card download is over
- In case of any difference or anomaly like – your name, date of birth, you should report the mistake immediately to exam centre at XLRI Jamshedpur

The other 160 member and associate B-schools accepting XAT scores will also select the candidates on the basis of XAT 2022 percentile and as per their final admission round.
XAT Answer Key 2022
XAT 2022 answer keys will be released by XLRI few days after the XAT 2022 exam date. As the XAT exam will be over on January 2, 2022, it is expected that XAT 2022 Answer keys will be released by XLRI by January 8, 2022. In any case, XLRI releases the XAT answer key for all sets of XAT questions paper in week’s time from the conduct of XAT exam and much before declaration of XAT result. As per the past trends, XAT 2022 result is expected between January 20 and 25, 2022 well before the officially announced date of January 31, 2022.
Since, XAT 2022 is a single session exam, it is easy for XLRI to publish the XAT answer keys 2022 for all the XAT questions as against the exams which are held in multiple sessions on multiple days.
