Central Universities are universities established under an Act of Parliament and are under the control and purview of Ministry of Education, Government of India. In 2009, Parliament passed Central Universities Act, which paved way for creation of 16 Central Universities in addition to the existing ones, to give representation to all states. Accordingly, all the Central Universities are now governed by the Central Universities Act, 2009. As of June 2020, there are 54 Central Universities providing technical and non-technical programs to young minds. As per the sources, 41 of these Universities will accept CUCET scores for the admission into various courses offered by these universities.
